Saturday Class graduates in 'Buddhist Concepts'

Saturday 28 March 2009 saw the completion of Buddhist Concepts and Meditation Made Simple training for more than twenty course followers. The course led by Phra Nicholas Thanissaro at the Dhammakaya Centre for Buddhist Meditation, Woking aimed to give a foundation of understanding in Buddhist theory and practice for newcomers. A follow-up course on Saturdays, starting on 18 April 2009 will be entitled Meditation and Self-Transformation.

Wexford: Middle Way Workshop II

A Middle Way meditation workshop attracting 35 students was organized for a second time on Tuesday 24 March 2009 in Kilrane and Rosslare Harbour, Co.Wexford, Ireland and led by Ven. Phra Nicholas Thanissaro of the Dhammakaya Centre for Buddhist Meditation in Wexford. By popular request, a third such workshop will be held on 28 April 2009. Interested? Wat Buddha Geneva opens door to international meditators

In a pilot workshop at Wat Buddha Geneva, Bellevue, more than a dozen interested parties of different nationalities and religions joined a workshop about the benefits of meditation, the opportunity to try meditating for fifteen minutes. Meditation on the banks of Lake Geneva

Phra Nicholas Thanissaro of the Dhammakaya Centre for Buddhist Meditation (London) and Phra Wichit of Wat Buddha (Geneva) organized the third monthly meditation workshop at Supatra Café restaurant, Versoix for thirty interested Genevoise of twenty different nationalities. The workshop comprised a short talk about the benefits of meditation, the opportunity to try meditating for fifteen minutes and a video presentation about the convalescent benefits of meditation for heart transplant 'miracle man', Robert Mawson. Irish Middle Way - Overwhelming 1st Response

Ireland's first Middle Way One Day Retreat held in Co. Wexford received an overwhelming response with sixty participants joining the event. Organized by Dee Mythen and team, the retreat was led by Phra Kru Sangharak Padet Jirakulo and Phra Nicholas Thanissaro from 10 a.m - 8.30 p.m. on 25 February 2009 at Kilrane Community Centre. A similar event is planned for 25 March 2009.

TSOP language graduates ready for placement

In a project to bridge the gap between the local non-Thai speaking communities and branches of the Dhammakaya Foundation ourside Thailand, the Most Ven. Phrarajbhavanavisudh has given scholarships to young volunteers expert in Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, English or Japanese to further their studies abroad. Forty-three graduated from the three-month 'International Acculturation' course led by Richard Esposito at The Sun of Peace International Language Institute (TSOP-IL), Thailand on 4 March 2009. As the graduates prepare to take up their new positions abroad, applications are being accepted for the second 'International Acculturation' course.
